Which will cost you more money towards your electric bill? Leaving a door open to the outside for a couple minutes every day (100+ degrees outside) or someone changing the thermostat's temperature a couple times a day?

Neither will cost me any money, as I do not have air conditioning. My furnace is wired so that it never heats over 72 degrees, so that won't be affected in the summer either.

Raising the thermostat might save you money if you run an air conditioner. Lowering the thermostat causes the A/C to run more. If you allow more heat into the home through the open door, it will cause your A/C to run more.
