Whirlpool oven door

Question

I had to pull my oven out to paint behind it. When I did the oven dor came partially off . When I tried to replace it the whole door came off and now I canot get it back on. The hinges have springs which I have pried open and put dowels in to hold them open while I tried to reattach the door but it still would not go on and eventually the hinges clamp shut with enough force to take your finger off. I really don't want to pay a repair person to come and reattach the door and I don't want to get a new oven if I don't have to. I am very frustrated by this and have wasted hours trying to get my door back on-not to mention I can't cook. Please help!
