Who's better: Sachin or Lara?

See, I like both very much, and Brian Charles Lara was my second most favourite left hander of all times, after Sourav Ganguly. It is difficult to compare these two. Both are the jewels of world cricket. But I think as far as just the records are concerned, Sachin is definitely better and should have the fair edge over Lara, because he has a brilliant test and an ODI career, and would undoubtedly overtake Lara and become the highest run scorer of test cricket. Also, he has done a good job as an allrounder, and has a decent number of wickets to his name. But if we leave aside all the records, and just look at the art and skill of batting, then both seems equally fabulous atleast to me.(Others may not feel that way, but I have a strange fascination for lefties, so I took delight in watching Lara's batting as well.)

Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar is the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. His average in tests is 55.31 with 39 Centuries and 49 Half Centuries, while Brian Charles Lara averages 52.88 with 34 Centuries and 48 Half Centuries. In the ODI's Tendulkar averages 44.33 with 42 Centuries and 89 Half Centuries, whilst Lara averages 40.48 with 19 Centuries and 63 Half Centuries. The record speaks for yourself and proves that Tendulkar is the BEST...!!!

Lara must be the better bastman , just look at which teems and where he Scored his runs compare to Sachin , check how many centries sachin have against the Aussies, compare to lara sachin only start scoring against W.I. when there bowling attact get weak dont just look at the number of runs they score but look at where and the bowling attact it scored against , Lara the better bastman

Wow the crowd seems a little bias here (I am originally from Pakistan) so I guess I will play the devil’s advocate and say Lara is better although sachin can bowl as well and the might give him an edge- hey either way I know they both entertained you and for sure entertained me thanks for the memories Brian Lara and the hopes of many more Sachin Tendulkar!
