W O W !!! I'm surprised, a young lady like you is intereted in : classical music... - GREAT - Brahms, Heyden, Beethoven were all competent composers. Also...I was a bit amazed, that (also one of my favorites) Marc Medlock is known in the US!! (he won the latest contest on the german "american idol)..he's such an original, unique guy !

On my personal...favorites, I really had to think for a while, because even though I'm german, I do NOT "care for" too many "german's".. sorry, but I'm more dedicated & connected with the american culture...so if I had to choose a german... I guess I tend towards the late : Hildegard Knef, because her songs contained deep lyrics ! Goethe & Schiller were great writers & Joshka Fisher a decent foreign minister (who spoke good english) -smile-...
