Who agrees in principle to Freeganism?

I've never tried it myself but I agree with it in principle.

Lots of the food that gets thrown away every day by shops and restaurants because it's technically out of date is still perfectly good to eat which is a terrible waste.

freeganism is a lot more than free food.  It's about a way of living that rejects society.  I think it's sociopathic because their view is important and society needs them, their influence, their "vote".  

Saying "The world is wrong so I opt out" doesn't help or change anything.

If this is what you believe is the best way to life, then go for it.  The thing that makes this country work is people putting into practice the things they believe.

Unfortunately, most people think up ideas that are weak and lame than ask politicians to force every one to live in a dystopia.

Personally the life isn't for me, and I doubt many people will live by the code for long.

In principle, fine.  Why pay for food you can pick up for free?  Have to agree with oo-siuox though, I couldn't do it myself.

Far too much food is wasted by supermarkets, restaurants and within households on a daily basis.  I live alone and throw a lot out because I can't always buy small enough quantities for one.

I agree with it in principle, but have too weak a constitution to personally participate.  That being said, I think there should be some kind of way that the food just doesn't go to waste by being tossed.  I know of a catering company in Atlanta that distributes leftover foods to homeless people so they don't have any waste.  Why can't food that is about to expire be donated to food banks or shelters that serve meals?  Why can't health and beauty aid that are expiring be given to homeless?  I take freeganism a little further than just food.  When we do remodels for our business, I make certain what we take out whether appliances in working order, flooring or fixtures goes to anyone willing to haul it away so that it doesn't go to a landfill.  Items I no longer need in my own home, like furniture in usable condition, even my Christmas tree last year, goes to military families who need it.  We have to start looking at what we throw away to see if it could have another use to someone else.
