I absoulty cannot stand him. He is the biggest prick ever.

Can't say I am a huge fan. If he annoys me too much I just turn the tv off and get some sleep.

Definitely someone who should think before he speaks/acts but mostly just an sad, aging bloke who thinks it's funny to belittle anyone who he deams not as intelligent as him. (And I am not saying this as some kind of bra burning feminist!!!)

(I don't believe we get to see the real Sam Newman on the Footy show though....)

I think he is fantastic entertainment, and if people don't like him they shouldn't watch him. I don't like many footy media personalities (namely Caroline Wilson) so I just don't watch her when she's on television.

Underneath all of the stupidity and jokes, Sam is a very intelligent man, with a great footy brain, and I think he is great.

I used to find him funny ...several years back ... but like any good comedy .. I think he's run his course.. TO ME .. he's outdated.. cringe-worthy ( like Benny Hill's chase at the end)...

I don't dispute that he has a football mind... BUT I just find him tiresome .. it isn't even his sexist jokes ( hey girls If we can't take them.. we're a little to sensitive) .. it's his tackiness.. and the way he puts down so many people who have not had the fortune and luck that he has had ( STREET TALK) .. remember we're not all as lucky as him to have had a wealthy dad and a private school education.....

BUT having said all that ... I agree with the people who have said "if you don't like him .. then don't watch him" PURE AND SIMPLE....

The reason you hate him is why so many people love him, they love the way he makes you hate him with his rude remarks - and thats why we love him so much.

Plus I'm in the habit of not watching a show if I don't like someone who is appearing in it - I'd rather not watch, than watch & whinge.

Sam's thing on the Footy Show is all an act, well most of it is.

When I met Sammy in 1995, he was quite the gentleman, pleased when I told him I barracked for Geelong.

He has a fantastic footy brain, he is in the AFL hall of fame, played 300 games for the Catters.

If you don't like him, you don't know him, just don't watch the Footy Show then.
