  1. I would say that if there not from my division I will root for the underdog.Last year I was rooting for the Ducks over the Senators.

  2. the underdog, or the one with the cutest guys(i am not a puckbunny)

  3. I usually pick a team that I feel will win. Sometimes it is the underdog and sometimes not. I usually go by gut feelings. I have a very good record with that. So that will not change.

  4. The underdog

  5. depends... if the team that knocked out my favorite team is in the finals i will root for them. i have an easier time when my favorite team loses to the stanley cup champion.

if that team is not in the finals i will root for a team from canada and against a west coast team. or if none of these situations occur...the underdog

  6. It depends on a number of factors... Usually which team I prefer of the two I don't care about, the players on the team, obviously their logo and colours (haha), etc.

  7. i root for my favorite team, the Buffalo Sabres, because they are good and the team just doesnt have one leader, they have many players who play an important role on the team

  8. underdog always

  9. if i have no rooting interest in either team (though i have some sort of opinion about most), then i'll usually pull for the team in "my" conference, i.e. the conference in which my favorite team resides.

  10. THE underdog, unless they have already won it in the past 10 years

  11. I root for the team with players I like.  Almost every team, even teams I hate, has a player that I like or respect.  I.e., I don't like Dallas as much as I used to (didn't like them at all when they had Ed Belfour), but being from Michigan, I have to root for Mike Modano.  Marty Turco is from Sault Ste Marie and went to U of Mich.  I take pride in most American players, because they are still and probably always will be a minority compared to Canadians.  This doesn't mean that I don't root against Americans though.  For instance, I really respect guys like Joe Sakic and Joe Nieuwendyk (sp?), but I hated their teams.

If I don't care about the teams, there are usually a few players that I enjoy watching on each team at least.  It also depends on what fanbase I believe deserves a Cup win more.  Usually I would root for a Northern team, unless that Northern team has annoying or cocky fans, or if the southern team has players I like.  Dallas fans, while from a completely unorthodox hockey state, have never offended me (I assume some exist too, because they've stuck around for a while and have been successful).

Generally speaking, I root for my conference, as it makes a Red Wing loss seem somewhat justified (losing is never justified in my opinion, but after it happens it is best to cut your losses).  For instance, I believe that although the Wings lost in 2007, they would have stomped Ottawa.

  12. I usually make a bet with someone about who will win the cup. So who ever i believe will win at the beginning of the finals thats who i stick with. Its usually the underdog.

  13. If there are two teams I don't like, then I just root for the away team in each game. That way, the fans in attendance go home angry :p

usually I root for the underdog, or just the team I dislike less.
