Who hates it when... teachers...?

Question

This is the fourth or fifth of the who hates it. Who hates it when... teachers punish the whole class for something one person or a small group of people in the class did? My english teacher made us write the definitions of noun,adverb,pronoun,verb,and adjective. and we had to give 10 examples of each! I said up till 10 p.m. and the next day he didnt' even check it! WTF!

Yeah, especially in P.E. when we all have to run extra laps, or stay in push-up position for the rest of the class.

It sucks, but I guess it'll always be that way. They don't always know who done something. . . life's not fair.

I totally agree. I hate that. But you know. Some teachers are just like that. If I become a teacher, I will do my best not to do that, but sometimes I don't think they really have a choice. Im sorry for what you had to do though.

I hate it too!  I feel it is unfair and sometimes promotes bullying because kids pick on the few who were responsible.  And yet as a teacher I found myself in that situation last school year.  During the fall book fair, my class stole some things.  We were able to catch quite a few  students who had stolen and a number of others who knew about it.  They were punished accordingly, but my entire class was restricted from going to the book fair after that because the people running the book fair didn't feel comfortable having them come.  At the spring book fair, we went and had no such problems.

Yeah in my old PE class he made us run 2 miles every day for the whole week for some idiot messing around in the lockers.

i like it coz den i don't get the blame or embarrassed and so everyone takes the punishment equally so their is less pain and trauma for me!

I totally kno wat u mean! I hate teachers who r like that! Teachers think that bc that one kid messed up, and all his classmates got punished for it, the kid will learn better bc instead of an old teacher getting mad at him, all his friends get mad.

LOL! Whats so hard about that. You shouldn't have had to stay up so long to do that; its not like its a hard thing to do! She probably just thought the class needed the practice! Just wait until you get to high school and college!

i totally hate it when teachers do that. there is one stupid boy in my last period class he always fulls around and every time he gets in trouble we do too.sometimes i just feel like busting the teacher but im a ''good girl'' i think.so i wont do that.

yes thats the worst.. my summer teacher got mad because a student kept suckin their teeth she got mad and made everuone write essaus about why not suck you teeth

I hate it too and I'm a teacher.  He should have at least checked it, because I suspect those kids that were the least deserving of the extra homework were the ones who did it.  He probably didn't check it because he felt guilty about it--but still, that's no consolation after you've been up to 10 doing it.

I'd turn it in anyway and maybe he'll give you extra credit for you effort! I know I would!

I know how you feel. When I was a kid in school, my teacher would drive us nuts! One kid was standing talking to himself while sharpening his pencil and obviously, the teacher should've known he was talking to himself! I mean, c'mon! Philip was like 'This sharpener isn't working. My pencil isn't sharpen enough. Maybe I should ask Lourdes for her sharpener? Oh, wait now it's working!' and then the teacher got the entire class in trouble and everyone blamed it on me and Philip when it was all Philip's doing! Everyone had to write an apology note for being disrespectful when ONE KID WAS TALKING TO HIMSELF WHILE SHARPENING HIS PENCIL!
