  4. Chap called Webb Ellis at Rugby school.  He picked up the football and ran with it - someone knocked him down and that was it!!

  7. Yeah the boys at Rugby school, they were playing football when one lad picked up the ball and started running with it.

  8. Webb Ellis, actually he is buried in a Grave Yard in Menton, South of France , just on the border with Italy. When we first saw the grave it was very dilapidated. We mentioned that fact to the Manager of the Hotel where we normally stay and he in turn brought it to the attention of the Mayor who arranged to have it cleaned& tidied. The last time we visited the grave it was all ship shape & Bristol fashion.Thought you may have wished to know his final resting place,France.

    (Hence why the World Cup is the Webb Ellis Trophy)
