There have been four batgirls.  One in the early 60's then Barbara Gordon who was paralysed by the Joker and retired.  Then the 3rd one of not great interest, the current one is Cassandra Cane and she is a martial arts prodigy and Asian.  She has a form of dyslexia but is now retired.  So to answer your question currently there is no batgirl.

Unlike Batman, there has not just been one woman to hold the name of Batgirl throughout the history of Comics and Animation.

Also, there have been several alternate continuity characters that go by the name Batgirl and, like always, Retcons have changed the history a bit.

The main women to take the name Batgirl are:

Betty Kane – Was the first Batgirl to appear in any comics, but in the Crisis of Infinite Earths Maxiseries, she was Retconned out of existence and was later replaced by Flamebird.

Barbara Gordon – Wore the costume until she was paralyzed in the Killing Joke by Joker. Now she goes by the code name Oracle and is the information broker of the JLA and the head of the Birds of Prey.

Helena Bertinelli – The Huntress (Only a short time)



Cassandra Cain – The current Batgirl, who is now the leader of the League of Assassins and works with Deathstroke.

Misfit – for a while took the name of Batgirl, but later changes it to her current name. She appeared post Infinite Crisis in the Birds of Prey series.

In other media, Batgirl has been primarily the Barbara Gordon character in the 1960’s live action show, as well as the 1990’s and present animated series.

In Batman and Robin, they changed Barbara Gordon to Barbara Wilson, niece of Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s butler, since Jim Gordon was a minor character in that movie.
