Who is bigger then who?

Let`s say there was a big/huge case which involved murder, drugs, corruption, false money, blackmailing, kidnapping and so on...who is bigger then who: FBI, CIA, DEA, Secret Service, a certain police dept....WHO? hope I made myself understood...

If the murder was across state lines, and a few murders, then the FBI would be on the case.

The CIA has no jurisdiction in the United States.

The DEA is an investigatory body, just like the FBI and they would deal with drugs.

Secret Service, as a force within the Treasury deals with counterfeit money, not just presidential matters as was mentioned above.

The FBI  or police would take care of kidnapping, corruption or blackmail depending on the level.

There are also different levels of cops, town, city, state.

If you are talking about trying a case if its federal the US Attorney's office would prosecute it, if it was state the state attorney general's office would prosecute it, and if it was a city or town, the counties DA's office would prosecute it.

well u ever watch the x files they are probably special agents even the FBI-CIA hasn't even heard of.

they are all federal agencies that handle different things....none is bigger than the other.  The police dept is only local though.....so I would say, they have the least control.

The scenario you present is one case or a multitude of cases?

The FBI would handle the cases of False money.

The Sheriff of the county, or the local police or a task force can be involved in the arrest and cases of Blackmail, kidnapping (unless across state lines then it is a federal offense), Murder, corruption(unless by a govt official the federal?), Drugs can be all of the above.

FBI id the Law Enforcement end of the feds.

DEA is concerned with drugs at the international and local levels across state lines.

CIA is Central Intelligence and is usually warfare.

Secret service is concerned with presidential matters.

The FBI is considered the highest level, and most versatile law enforcement in the country.  Most likely the FBI would take the case, but they would also depend upon the experts in each of those fields for advice.  So, this would include experts from the CIA, DEA, BATF, Secret Service, etc.
