Who is good with computers?

Okay so We bought this new 17 in monitor screen with built in sound thing and when we plugged in everything, it still doesn't play any sound and this has been bugging me for the past few years. before we got the new screen we tried a couple of speakers but it wouldn't work and then one did but then stopped working and we couldn't get it to work again. so now we have the new one and it still doesn't work I'm going insane here. what is wrong with this computer????

2 things you might want to give a shot

1. check to see if you have your audio setting set correctly

so it gives sound out the built in speakers sometimes that happens where it set to the wrong setting

2.if that does not work try installing realtek AC97 restart your computer

and give it a try

There should be a button on the keyboard that mutes the volume; you may have hit that by accident.

You can always try to update your audio or sound cards. I had something similar going on with my computer it was that my audio cards or sound card were out of date. To update find out the brand of you audio card and go the the website. hope that helped

To answer the original question:  Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Linus Torvolds are all good with computers.

Is the cable plugged into the right port in the back?  usually it's a green port that he speakers plug into.  Your sound card or onboard sound might be bad.
