Hi! Who do you think is the greatest racehorse of all time? I personally love Ruffian, but I was wondering what other people think. If you have a favorite racehorse, do you know any websites that have some pictures of these wonderful athletes? Thank you!!!

    But I also love Seattle Slew. . I was at Belmont the day Slew won his Triple Crown. A day I will always remember.

  3. the best i ever seen in person are silver charm..gentlemen and free house ..all at santa anita...oh yeah marlin was nice too

  4. my favourite of all time has to be Best Mate, but three i will NEVER forget are Ouija Board, Teeton Mill and One Man, (One Man suffered a fatal fall at Aintree and Teeton Mill a career ending injury in the Cheltenham Gold Cup) so we never know just how talented these horses would have been :(

  5. No-one thinks Phar lap? Maybe Makybe Dive for winning 3 consecutive Melbourne cups. Phar lap was that good that the mafia had to poison him.

    My personal favourite (not the best in the world) is a mare called Gold edition. Unfortunately they thrashed her into winning neally 4 million dollars prize money by the age of 3. She has to be retired now at only 4. Very sad.

  6. I'm not sure about the greatest, but my favorite is Alysheba.  His win in the '87 Derby was one of the best of all time.

  7. My all time favorite has to be the great Star Over The Bay.

  8. since the 70's, secreteriat or cigar might be the best. Prior to the 70"s its hard to say, except to say, there has not been one best horse ever. only by erra.

    Another great horse (but not THE greatest ), and one of my personal favorites from the past is Whirlaway.

    Note: Let's not forget that other countries have a horseracing

    history too. Perhaps some of the horses mentioned by "tartanar" above (I'm assuming these are horses from the UK) could have been just as great as those in the US. We'll never know.

  11. spetacular bid they put the shoe on him in his last race just so he could admit this was the best horse he had ever ridden. The best horse I ever saw live was cigar

  12. I like Affirmed,Cigar, Ruffian, Secretariat and Pharlap. I wish i could have seen them race. Do a search and I am sure you will get pics.

  13. Secretariat, I think I spelled it right, do a search this horse won a lot of races, I remember he was beautiful and fast, I don't have pics, hope this helped
