Well if you mean of individual people then that question is unknown, and given that we don't understand intelligence as well as we think it may indeed be unknowable. if you mean who is the msartest person as in what group of people are the smartest then the answer is that human beings, regardless of race or other factors (aside from mental defects) are on average of equal mental capacity.

It really does depend on how you define "intelligence."  There are different modes of comprehension.  That real-life "Rain Man" has the best memory in the world, but he's also severly autistic, finding simple tasks difficult.  Many high-level I.Q. people may be wizards at logic puzzles, but some have no "emotional I.Q." whatsoever.  But you get the occasional few who are both socially and mentally gifted.  Marily vos Savant has the highest I.Q. on record at 228 (to give you an idea, I'm an Ivy League studet with a 145).  Take a look here:

I don't think there is one person classified as the most intelligent person..And every person has there own opinion on things so if you said President Bush was the smartest person I would disagree...

i spent a minute looking for this... so you should check it out. it's from a documentary (which sadly the name of it escapes me) but the guy the show is about meets the smartest man in the world. the man that they made the movie "the rain man" after.

i do believe HE is the smartest man in the world today.

he has a photographic memory and remembers 95% percent of what he reads with 100% accuracy.

That's really a tough question... There are alot of people in the world and some of them are probably gifted with amazing intelligence, however, we might never know about them. One of the more famous people of high intellect is Stephen Hawking. His intelligence is quite high, and he seems like he has wisdom to share as well... Those two types of intelligences are quite important... Anyhow, people have intelligences on different things, examples being electronics, philosophically, musically, and the like, anyhow, it really varies, and a person might just be smart one way in a subject and smart the other way.
