  1. get rid of Blake, he's a bum (CLE fan)

    drop ethier

  2. Good job.  I think I answered the question for you yesterday if you should except the trade.  Why not help ya again!!!

I would go with Zimmerman, Putz second.  If the M's get too too far out of it, they may sit him down for the year but Zimmerman is a good player, in a large park, on a bad team and that spells trouble for fantasy.  Take your pick, either way you really can't go wrong.

  3. Ryan Zimmerman has a shoulder injury and usually, shoulder injuries are hard on sluggers like Zimmerman to recover from as much of their power is sapped because of it (see Hank Blalock).  He's out until mid-July.

J.J. Putz struggles can be attributed to multiple injuries he's endured thus far this season.  I think he can return to be an elite closer if he recovers from these injuries and hopefully he can at least in time for the 2nd half of the season.  He's out until late June.

Fausto Carmona was having a mediocre season this year.  It looked like he would turn things around one week, only to look very ordinary in the next week.  Carmona doesn't strikeout a lot of batters and this year, his BB/9 was at 5.9, which is a far cry from last season's 2.55.  He's out until late June and the Indians want him to take his sweet time returning from injury.

I do think the guy you should drop immediately is David Murphy.  If you look at his minor league numbers, he doesn't get on base a lot, he doesn't hit for much power, won't steal any bases for you and his strikeout rate is ridiculous.  The dude, if he were a superhero, would be named "Ordinary Guy."  Drop him as soon as he starts slumping because guys who K'out a lot like him, usually have a hard time getting out of slumps.

The next guy you may want to dump, assuming you don't want to drop healthy bodies, is Fausto Carmona.  If you believe in Carmona, then you have to let go of Zimmerman.

Carmona, Putz, and Zimmerman (the new Nationals Park was supposed to be a more hitter-friendlier ballpark than RFK, by the way) all have had success in the Majors and are worth keeping around over a scrub like Murphy (hate to call him that, but essentially, that is what Murphy is).
