Who started the "troll" word?

started using the word "troll" to label those "guys"?

It's been around for many, many years. It is related to the story of trolls lurking under bridges, and the similarity to people lurking around on boards and posting unwanted comments.

A "troll" is someone who intentionally and persistently posts inflammatory messages about sensitive topics to bait users into responding or provoke a confrontation. But to me a 'troll' is simply a dwarf who thinks and acts big, but doesn't really fully use what he's got up there in his head!Usually he ends up making a fool of himself, because he sounds and is readily identifiable as being weird!
