had to ask this as I remember vaguely some sort of tributes on this site to him.

Santana D. was a good man and well respected on this site especially by some of us oldtimers on here.  He was very knowledgeable about boxing and always gave very thorough and informative answers.  He was also very helpful and respectful of others on here and complimentary.  I know on several occassions of him complmenting me and when it came from him you know it meant something.  He is definetly a legend of this site.   I know that he was also a pro fighter but at the same time a good and decent man that is missed.  He passed away after a brave battle with cancer.  Rest in peace Santana D.

The chief of yahoo boxing the ultimate the best the ver was or ever will be........ i knew santana very well i like to think of him as my mentor my influnce here hes a hero of mine he was a fighter himself back in the day he was a very well respected man and still is beyond the grave he was my freind and santana d died by the way last may right before the big de la hoya fight he died of cancer very very sad
