Who was the poem written for?

If a guy writes a poem and gives it to one of his friends (a girl) then walks off while she reads it and comes back and says "You didn't like it or you would have reacted differently", could that be a sign that the poem was written for her? What if she asks him later if he wrote it for her and he says "think about it"?

It sounds to me like it was written for her. It sounds like he has feelings for her but he's really shy or embarrassed and writing a poem is the best way to express how he feels. If he walked away that also helps shows he's shy because he was too nervous to stay there and watch her reaction in person.
