  1. The whole Pens defence..... can't handle the Wings forecheck...can't make the all important 1st pass out of their own end.

I find it funny how when Hossa was obtained in the trade a majority of you Pen fans on here said it was a bad move and "Trading away the future"..and "what has Hossa ever done in the playoffs". Then after 3 rounds he was the second coming of Christ....and now you are including him in a "chokers list"?? Make up your minds people...he can't be a choker if you never expected anything of him in the first place!!

  2. Unfortunately to single out 1 player here is not fair. The whole group of over-achievers, is well, UNDER-ACHIEVING! From top to bottom.

What needs to be done is Mario needs to lace up at the next Pitt practice and get these boys moving before this turns into a laughing stock after all the "hype" of Sid and a competitive series!

  3. I'd say overall it would be Malkin, I know its an easy answer, but you can't be second in the league in scoring during the regular season and have a total of -3 with 1 SOG in the first two games of the finals.

Fleury hasn't been great, but he hasn't cost them anything.

Crosby's got 9 shots, so hes accounting for about 20% of their "offense".

I think this is more a case of Detroit playing great hockey than anything else.

  4. Why is it, that I was looking for the word "chicken" in that question?

I missed game 1.  In game 2, I would say that the entire team was not communicating very well with each other.  A total cluster fudge.

  5. I agree with Jay for the most part.

Its not that they are choking, its that the Wings just aren't giving them anything to work with. The Pens play a similar style of hockey to the Wings, except the Wings basically wrote the book on that style. Since the Wings are better at it, they are forcing the Pens to dump and chase, and although they are faster than the Wings, the Wings seem to keep coming up with the puck and breaking it right out.

You are right though, If I had to pick anyone, I would pick the Coach. He isn't doing anything to make strategies on how to beat the Wings. Instead, he is whining about the reffing and calling Osgood a diver. He should realize that it isn't going to do anything, and he should focus on the games ahead, not the game behind him.

I would also so that Malkin and the rest of the 2nd line choked a bit in the Game 2. I know that the Wings aren't giving them much, but c'mon...ZERO shots for the WHOLE line? That is pretty bad.

  6. Game 1 Would be Fleury. He was rattled from the get go when he tripped out of the gate and never recovered.

Game 2 I would pick the entire offense of the Pens. They are not taking shots and just trying to get fancy when they should just play it simple. If you don't take a shot it won't go in.

  7. Game 1, was bad for everyone. And game 2 was fleury's fault. :(

  8. It's a toss up between Malkin and Hossa......at least Sid has put in some effort

  9. No one

Pittsburgh isnt choking.  They are doing exactly what I figured they would do.  It is only choking if next year they fail to make the playoffs, without major injuries.   Im sorry but for their age and experience they are preforming as they should be expected.  They will learn, hopefully Therrien will learn.  I think just as much they are being out played on the ice, so far he has been out coached.

  10. I'd love to say everybody.. it just seems like the pens aren't meshing well lately.

but if i had to only choose one, fleury. he can't expect everybody to help him out the whole game... he needs to realize he's the main guy to keep the pens in the game.

  11. Game 2 Staal

Game 1 Didn't watch, but by default i'd say Crosby

  12. Game 1 -  Malkin

Game 2 - The entire Line 2 of Pittsburgh. Franzen was slippin' a little bit too, but he just came out from an injury so I can't blame him too much.

  13. I agree with you on Coach Therrien.

  14. Malkin, Hossa and the Coach.

The coach because he has failed to shake things up after periods 2 and 3 of game1

Malkin because i see him as the best player from pittsburgh who is capable of saving them from elimination.

Not Crosby: because i dont expect Crosby to do much of anything anyway (his secondary assits are inflating his stats, he cant be counted on to lead a team with a whopping 4 goals in the entire palyoffs -- 1 an empty-netter).

Hossa, because he was attained specificallly to provide secondary scoring which he hasent done this round.

  15. Malkin

  16. Shhhhhh........... Malkin's sleeping, don't want to wake him.

I think Therrian is to blame for so many reason. The press conference was ridiculous.  I don't remember a team losing it's composure so fast and whining so much when down 2 games. Even Dallas, down 3-0, showed more composure.  Instead of pointing out the diving and obstruction address that you need to get a SHOT on net playing 5 on 5 hockey.  Also the team looks unmotivated, can blame Therrian for that to.

Kimberly- Does Fleury score goals? The young goaltender is facing 30-40 shots a game, the puck is in his zone all game.  Fleury is the last person on my list.
