Okay. I need honest opinions.

Two people become business partners and run the business out of one of their homes. The partner that owns the home is going out of town. Several meetings are planned while he is gone, so his other partner needs the key to the home. The partner staying back has a wife who reminds the parner that is leaving to give her husband the key. She and the partner drop him off at the airport and he forgets to give them the key. The partner that left later accuses the partner that stayed that he should have remembered the key too and they are equally at fault. The partner that stayed said it was the other one's fault because he is the home owner and he already did get one reminder. So, whoes fault is it? The partner that stayed, the partner that left, or both equally?

  1. I'm truly surprised that they are in business at all.

  2. The home owner should have made sure they had a key.. When he comes home all partners should have a key or change locations if he feel partners can't be trusted with  a key to his home.

  3. Whose fault? Who cares!!!

  4. The one that stayed is most definitely at fault.

The one that stayed is stupid for letting the other have all of the business material in #2's home without a key to begin with.

The one that left is smart.  He is able to control everything without the other - and gives flimsy excuses on why the key isn't' there.

If they had any brains between the two of them, they would go ahead and rent a small office for a couple of hundred dollars a month and everyone would have equal and direct access at anytime.

  5. Well to me it looks a bit 50/50 the one that left town should have left the key and the one that stayed in town should have followed up with this.

In the long run with laptops, etc. how come they could not work while the partner was away? they could have worked from their own home a coffee shop, etc. Also the partner that left town could have used next day shipping to send the key back (cheaper then a broken window).

Seems that since they are going to have to work extra hard to make up for lost time... They should focus on the work and not worry about whom left the key.
