  1. There are many places that bats are unable to survive, places that have large populations of wasps and spiders, swallows, or any insectivore that eats up their food supply.

Other areas, widespread use of  insecticides has cut bat populations first by poisoning then by making them sterile.

People have been told that bats carry rabies and so should be eliminated. Reality is that in North America fewer than one person per year is getting bat rabies. Considering their effect on mosquito populations that help control diseases like west Nile, we should take our risks with bat rabies. (If we have them in our house I would get inoculated despite the low risk generally).

  2. Because most people have nothing else to worry about. ( WHAT ABOUT THE HUMAN RACE?)  We need to think about "US".....

  3. Because the places for them to roost are disappearing.  People keep felling trees.  They now like to go in hose lofts instead.  If they go in your loft they will not do any damage apart from leaving a few droppings.  Please don't evict them

  4. Usally its just a specific species of bat.

  5. Because they live in caves where crude oil might be found.

  6. they also eat mosquitoes. That is good enough for me.

  7. because if they are not a protected apesies then we will start to eat them..

  8. only certain species are protected , bat droppings and urine can be very damaging to a attic or loft they carry a disease called histoplasmosis it is a fungal lung infection.Best to seal up a home in the fall when the bats leave to migrate south, have the droppings removed by a professional and sanitize the area, build a bat house and place some of the droppings in the bat house the pheromone in the droppings will encourage the bats to use the bat house and not gain entry to the sealed attic

  9. Because there numbers are low in this country

  10. because there are not very many colonies left in Britain
