Why are ferrets illegal in LA?

Why are ferrets illegal in Los Angele California?And I think i heard its leagal at Las Vegas.Its so close!Whats the difference??And why are they illegal??

mostly because a lot of people get them.. find out they are TOO much work.. and release them into the wild.. where they kill a lot of song birds and smaller animals..

A lot of it has to do with the fact that fish and wildlife find A LOT of escaped and abandoned ferrets. There are so many they worry about them breeding and taking over habitats of native animals.

I don't know why they are illegal, but La is in California and Las Vegas is in Nevada.  Different states, different laws.

No one really understands it. There are so many people who live in LA that want ferrets and are very mad at the goverment, because of that law.

Ferrets are illegal in the whole state of California. Their reasoning tends to be along the line of ferrets reproducing in the wild and threatening agriculture and native species.

Las Vegas is in Nevada, and Nevada does not prohibit ferrets.
