  1. Great question!  Nothing too special about the plywood, not like it's maple or anything.  The tube is nothing really special.  I probably could have made one pretty easily but talked someone into giving me one for Christmas so I guess I don't really care how much they are.

Because someone was smart enough to patent an idea that has been around for centuries, and they are able to sell to thousands of real surfers and tens of thousands of teeny bopper surfer wannabes. I like Surf man's proposal to build your own. It isn't exactly an engineering masterpiece, and they are beneficial and sometimes fun.

  4. yea i know...but i have one, i got it for christmas one year and i love it... but everything is expensive and over priced these days...like clothes...like you get one once of fabric and it costs near a hundred dollars for the crazy people...but if you want one, you can always try making one or asking to get it as a gift
