  4. Yes Jack is right. Leaves are green because of chlorophyll present in them and chlorophyll does not absorb Green colour in light.

    The leaves have the main function of food preparation by the process of photosynthesis. For photosynthesis chlorophyll is essential. So leaves will have large amount of chlorophyll compared to other plastids or colouring substances. Hence the leaves will be Greene.

    In many plants the leaves are not green are red, violet, purple or brown in colour.
