I have four phones + fax + broadband on one BT line. Problem is that the voice traffic on the line is now very quiet. Does anybody know any cures. (As I understand it a REN booster only affects the ringing function)

  1. You have got the volume turned down on the receiver.  On My phone to alter this you have to press the telephone symbol at the bottom of the phone, then scroll down to handset scroll down again to ear vol and adjust it from there.  I would suggest looking in your phone manual to find out how to do yours.

Hope this helps and have a good weekend.

  2. ensure that you dont have a reversal in the wiring, the first main socket should have 2 wires to the bt part. the front panel that you wire your extns to should be terms 2,3 and 5. 3 is the bell wire. Make sure that the colours on terms 2&5 are the same in every socket

  3. it may also be worth disconnecting everything, plug them back in one at a time, checking as you go. it may be a phone is faulty, and as its a circuit it will affect everything else connected.
