Why are people so mean?

its mostly on here, beauty and style. people obviously want answers and honest answers but do you have to be so mean? what satisfaction do you get from it? Telling a YOUNG girl she's ugly or someone that their question is stupid is appalling. Do you realize how you sound? How obvious it is that your hiding when you block IM and email?

i guess it makes the bad person feel better about themselves, because they are jealous that the person is getting answers telling her  that she is pretty, gorgeous, or beautiful.

i hide and block my IM for privacy reasons... i don't some perv on here talking to me! but people just do it to make them feel better.

hahah lotsa a$$holes out there, but i sort of get a kick out of the people who call really pretty people ugly just to put them down. like thats sad

People think they can get away with it simply because they can hide behind their desktop. The sad thing is that they expect to be able to do it to others, but when or if someone turned around and did the same thing to them they would either get offended or really upset; it's really rather pathetic in my opinnion.

it is kinda mean when they do tell people when they are hideous i agree with you there. But if you were kinda bad looking i would want to know instead of going around thinking i am so pretty. People are mean but if they are going to say your ugly they should at least say i your not too attractive of put it nicely

and she wants honesty....

what else can you say besides ''you're ugly''

yeah some people take it to the extreme saying ''you are so disgusting i think you should kill yourself''

but those are the people that are so disgusting in person that should kill them selves and their opinion doesn't matter

People like that just like to push everyones buttons I actually had a argument with this one girl on here over her calling me like stupid and ugly or something then I realized it wasn't worth my time or energy so I just let it go people just like to be mean sometimes!!

well if you post a question like that on Y!A you need to prepare yourself...i hate to break it to you but life isnt fun and games. if you cant handle the answers then dont post the question..its that simple
