When I go to bed at night, it's like I suddenly have ADD or something. My mind just turns on full blast and random thoughts fly through my head, whether it's about something that happened today, how to properly format a sentence (this haunted me when i was in business communications I & II. thanks ms. stewart), something that happened a long time ago, a dream i had once....seriously the most random stuff that no one ever thinks about. I can be completely exhausted and can't fall asleep. Like right now. It's almost 1:30 in the morning. I have to be at school at 8 and I can tell already that I'm not falling asleep for quite a while. Sometimes it takes me an hour to fall asleep and there has been a few occasions where i never did fall asleep and pulled an all nighter without even trying. I've tried tylenol simply sleep and sominex. sometimes it works, but for a while i was taking over twice the regular dosage and it wasn't working. I'm trying to keep from having to take any medicine to fall asleep.

What do you think the problem is?

I also have had trouble focusing in school lately (the past few weeks). I can read something several times and not understand it. This is not looking good for someone trying to get their degree.

  1. I have the same problem. A friend recently told me that health food stores sell Melatonin pills. Melatonin is naturally made in your body and it helps regulate your sleep and wake cycle. But times of stress can mess this up. I would suggest getting some Melatonin tablets. They work pretty fast. I would start out with 3mg tablets at first. Take it about 1/2 hour before you plan to go to sleep. Also for the first few days I would take Tylenol with it. The first few days I took it I got a headache but didnt once I took the Tylenol. Hope this helps.
