  1. Before a ticket can be "redeemed" it must be scanned and put out as sold. Tickets that are scanned out as sold, are null & void. So the clerk would have to scan all those tix out as sold first and then redeem them all to see which ones are winners. Lottery proceeds must be deposited nightly, so if he doesn't match his winnings against the ones he sold, he's caught quick. keep in mind, lottery tickets are for the most part, losers. If he doesn't hit something big, he's screwed unless he pays for the tickets. Also keep in mind, all scratch off tickets, since a law in 1979 was passed, must be on rollers. You see the clerk pull the ticket off the roll, what you don't know, is that the roller only works one way and the tickets cannot be rerolled. Only lottery officials who refill the bins have the key to the box to put the new spindle on. Basically, if you want to be sure your ticket is good, pick on the must be "rolled out" not one that is hanging already, that way, you know it has not been tampered with.

  2. hey you are right

i think he maybe out to get you too

be careful around those guy they know what ticket to pick and if he picks a loser for you then you know he is

  3. If I understand your question, you are asking why does he scratch the ticket and then scans it. He scans it because it tells him how much you won or if it is a legit ticket. After being scanned one time , it cannot be scanned again, because the computer will tell him that this ticket was already scanned.  That is how the lottery keeps up with where the tickets were redeem and which ones was a winner.  For every winning ticket, the store that redeems it, gets money for it. So it is a good system they have, because there is no purpose for a vendor to keep your ticket because he will get money anyways.  I am sure that some have tried but at the end they can loose their license, and for a store owner that would be loosing all the money he put in the store.  In Florida most convenience stores are run by owners and their family, That is not to say that there could be scammers out there.

  5. because it is not possible and illegal to cheat the public

  6. Once he scratches he is responsible for that ticket winner or loser. He would be gambling

  7. I think you're mistaken. The part that he scans is under the stuff you scratch off!!  At least that's the way it's been on every scratch off ticket I've ever bought.
