1) human don't want to be mistaken as donno how to cook, when their dishes 'hangus'

2) they get bored eating boiled food

well,  it gives an extra additional flavor to your food plus it acts as a " lubricant " on your pan  so that the food wont get burned. even a non stick pan needs a lil help of oil too.
