Why did Christobal weaken and will it affect Virginia?

  1. It weakened due to increasing shear over the system.  Hurricanes don't like shear.


  2. Cristobal weakened because it moved along land. It lost energy due to land friction. It seemed to miss Virginia. The storm is going move off into the North Atlantic and die out eventually.
