Why did Jesus condemn all heterosexuals?

Matthew 5:28-30:

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into h**l. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into h**l.

This is normal heterosexual human attraction. But as obvious as this is, Jesus clearly approves of the laws of the Old Testament:

John 7:19

Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law?

Matthew 5:17

Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place.

Matthew 5:18-19:

For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Leviticus 20:10

And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

If I "lust" after a woman (not physically propositioning her, but simply being sexually attracted to her), why should I be put to death? Any heterosexual male will obviously be attracted to the opposite gender. This is a critical factor in why people get married and have children.

What moral reason is there for punishing harmless romantic feelings? Why would any human (Christian or otherwise) consider this biblical doctrine as rational?

  1. Obviously, you don't know what "lust" means.  It is not a normal human reaction.  Physical attraction is not lust; lust is when you play out sexual fantasies in your mind.

  2. Anyone can take the Bible out of context to soothe their own guilty conscience.

  3. "Lust" connotes something different than harmless romantic feelings. God made men and women to be attracted to each other and it is not a sin. Just as being hungry is not a sin, but gluttony is.

  4. [Insert generic argument from semantics]

    [Insert Bible passage]

    There, I win.

  5. That Bible is a little violent.....

  6. Jesus came to seek and save the lost.  Jesus died for the lost.  ALL the lost.

You are missing the message of Jesus in that Scripture.  He was letting people know they had all broken God's laws.  Jesus fulfilled the law in our stead.  But we must accept Him.

I don't think we understand how important marriage really is to Jesus.  The Bible says the Church is His bride.  I think it's pretty clear that Jesus considered marriage sacred.

  7. That's just too much nonsense to waste my time reading.

God is punishing all of us because Eve was a freethinker.

By this rationale, I should condemn all members of any given family (and all descendants) for which I have a dispute with one single member.

  8. "Lust" is wanting to have s*x with her.

Any s*x not between a husband and his wife (only) is sin.

(No amount of liberals and/or PC people can change that)

  9. You may find it hard to believe, but many people do practice sexual morality. The sexual practices that God doesn't allow are anything outside of marriage between a man and a woman. So, I needn't list adultery, fornication, homosexuality, beastiality, incest...

It's really simple actually. Is it to please himself? Hardly. He gave us this code to live by to protect our hearts from being broken, our physical health, and our general welfare. We are only hurting ourselves when we break his laws.

  10. See the little 4 letter word "lust"?

Lust is anything in your life God doesnt desire you to have for your own good.

If it said "love" then youd have a point, but God is saying don't LUST, not love.

    ..NEXT!

    all that typing for nothing.

  11. its not that he forsook them !!!

its that he gave them up to their own lusts.

  12. You  hit the nail on the head. This is just one of MANY nonsensical statements attributed to Jesus found in the so called holy Bible.

  13. God has a sense of humor? Also, it seems like he's saying you should cut IT off.

  14. There is a difference between seeing a woman in everyday life, and looking at a woman and thinking "wow, I would SO like to have a night in bed with that chick!"

Physical attraction of a man to a woman is natural, it is when a person uses that attraction to allow impure thoughts into their head, especially when they act on them, which is a sin.

There is a difference between romance and lust, despite what television and hollywood tell you.

  15. Jesus was a Jew. He obeyed the Jewish law perfectly. Jesus was still yet to be crucified  when He spoke these words. He said He came "to fulfill" the law (TO FULFILL). He fulfilled the law at Calvary, when He suffered, died and resurrected. The law still applied when He spoke those words. (TO THE JEWS)

When He said "Pluck it out, cut it off, cast it from thee', were figures of speech. Just like when we want someone to stop doing something we say,"cut it out!." h**l in this verse means "Gehenna", a garbage dump near Jerusalem that burned continuously. During this time Jewish law demanded that those guilty of  Adultery, violence and stealing were punishable by death. Once executed these offenders were cast into this burning dump. So basically He is saying it is better to stop thinking about adultery, violence, and stealing, for it could lead to actual acts, and if caught be put to death and cast in this h**l (dump). Jews still are held to these laws(the ten commandments), because of their rejection of Him, although punishments are not as severe as then. Which explains John, Matthew, and leviticus. Also this h**l (Gehenna) is where the worm never dies. Meaning that those executed and were thrown in this, sometimes did not fall into the fire, but oftentimes landed on a tree limb or ledge to rot, where they were consumed by worms.

  16. I'll tell you what.  The minute you see that one girl that sends butterflies to your stomach and you just hopelessly day dream about her and not think evil or lustful about her?  You'll understand exactly what Jesus was talking about.

  17. It says lust, it doesnt say thinking that a person is attractive is wrong. What becomes sin is when your undressing that person with your eyes and having sexual thoughts about him or her. This goes beyond just being attracted. This is lust.

  18. There's a difference between attraction and lust. I can see a woman and say she's beautiful but that doesn't mean I have to undress her with my eyes or wonder how she would be in bed.

  19. For goodness sake!!!  God doesn't condemn heterosexuality!  That is not what those verses are talking about!  You have taken them out of context to suit you sick perverted game you play!

If you don't believe in God why do you fight so hard against Him?!
