Why did we trade Bernier?

We got c**p for him. 2 draft picks for a oung improving guy. We could've at least gotten a defenseman or something. What the heck Darcy?

We also got Craig Rivet from San Jose I think that was a good deal considering he is a proven D-man and a veteran  who has had some success i just hope he doesnt get that many penalties as he has in the past

well i'm a sharks fan & i'm only answering this question because  bernier used to be on the sharks. but anyways i honestly don't know, i was kinda shocked when i heard the news. but i wish him all the best with the canucks!! who honestly know's why the sabers traded him, i don't even get why doug wilson traded him when we got brian campbell, i honestly thought the sharks would have traded away someone else when we got brian campbell but what's said is done.

That was a terrible trade.  Bernier wasn't even asking for much from what I heard.  As for Ryan Miller being a Red Wing.. my b***s are getting perky just thinking about it =)

being a Sabres fan you should know how stupid our management is by now.  

but let's face it he had literally one good game with the Sabres.  I was there, it was his first game with us VS the Preds when he scored two.  after that he did about as good as Sabrestooth would out on the ice with a stick.  I say good move to get rid of him, but your exactly right what a wasted trade.  Bieska would've made a nice fit for him.  but that didn't happen and we just have to move on.

Very odd. The kid is only 23 and seems like a guy who can be a top 6 forward. I am thinking  Darcy has completely lost his mind. I wonder how that will help them keep Miller between the pipes....I cant imagine him wanting to stay when they keep letting anyone with talent move on. Things just dont seem to be adding up in Buffalo lately, too many strange goings on makes one wonder what they are thinking. Wonder how Miller will look after next season wearing the Winged Wheel?

My guess is to use those picks plus Afinogenov or a different player(and maybe another one of our picks) for another trade that we will see in the future. Thats the only thing I can come up with.

The sabres just traded the two picks they got for craig rivet from san jose. So we basically got a tough top 4 d man for a under achieving player at a position that we have too many players.

Hey Jacoby guess what...you got Craig Rivet. I am so pissed off right now because he is one great defensemen. I have no idea why the Sharks traded him and Buffalo got a great deal out of it.
