  1. Mick Malthouse decided after the grand final loses in 02/03 that a latter pre season would benifit the club barring injures to key players this seemed to of worked along with altertude training every oct/nov you will find in the 2nd half of the season this may change as some of the younger players find it hard to run out a game .

  2. Depsite Collingwood's poor list they manage to win a surprising amount of games due to their high level of discipline inforced by legendary coach Mick Malhouse. As demonstrated numerous times this year (especially against the Tigers), they never give in because of there workhorse midfield. Players such as Paul Lucuria, Scott Burns and Shane O'Bree, despite a lack of skill continue to give 100% until the final siren.

Collingwood has also had favourable fixtures in the 2006 and 07 seasons. Last season they played only one of the top 8 teams twice (losing both times to Adelaide). This season they have to travel outside Melbourne on only 4 occasions, playing their final 10 matches in Melbourne.

  3. God knows...I wish I had more faith in them when it comes to tipping thats for sure!

I just can never bring myself to tip them!

  4. They don't, they just choke the game up until the other team gets bored to death.  (See Mathouse's WCE teams from 1995-1999).  The do appear to be a well drilled and disciplined team though.  Of course, seemingly never having to leave the state makes it easier for them not to have to deal with the effects of travel as well.
