Why do egyptians love Goha?

i must say i find the nawadir very funny but what is it that makes Goha so famous? what is his history?

Egyptians read and listen to the stories of Goha when they are pupils in the 1st or 2nd year primary .

the stoties tickle the little ones .

they love and repeat them .

they become part of their makeup .

Goha is their childhood hero , so he is always well remembered .

he has no history.

he is a the hero in folklore stories .

he is paradoxical , a mixture of  cunning and simplicity .

Because he's so Egyptian, he is OURS only, lol (Goha anyway, not Nasredine Hoja, etc)...I mean he's got a nagging wife, rides a donkey....he is practically 90% of all Egyptian dudes, lol
