I just of thought of this and I wonder why. I think it's for amusement, but I think there's something scientific about it.

maybe an amusement..it sometimes gives me a head ache tho >.<

  5. In my youth so many years ago, all phones came equipped with bells.  When a call came in, a vibrating hammer hit those bells making them ring.  The term "ring" was carried over so that all sorts of electronic noises and now "ring tones" are generated, but very seldom will you actually hear a phone truly "ring" with bells.

  6. to let you know, someone is seeking for you!

  7. I dunno.

But I hate it when it rings, and people hang up straight away when you answer, or when you don't hear it ringing and miss the call completley, lol

It would be cool if you could set it to a ringtone, like mobiles :)

  8. so you know when someone is calling. the songs they have instead of rings now are for amusement.
