Why do ppl text?

whats the point..when u have a computer?

yeah, seriously, but the question is really "Why text when you have a phone?" because why put your fingers through all that work when all you have to do is press 7 numbers and talk to the person (or at least leave them a message)

Don't you just hate those commercials where the old lady talks in texting abbreviations? "IDK, my BFF Rose..." that stupid old lady SHUT UP!!!

I found people who texted really annoying until i started doing it myself. It is much easier than calling and talking to people, especially if the person wont pick up. If someone won't pick up their phone, you can send a text, and it is guaranteed to get there. It is also helpful if you don't have time to get into a conversation with people, but still need to tell them something...

You're not always around your computer and this is from the cell phone and it is quite where no one can here a ring on either direction, just vibration.   I don't like it, but kids do it all day long.

i officially hate everyone that sends text messages.

you sit there and hit the same button about 4 times in a row to get a sentence like omg ppl @ mall u com?

and if you have a phone, why not call your friends? if you're in class, you shouldn't be texting anyway. most people that do it in my class fail.

cause its fun, idk cause i don't have a cell phone yet, and probably won't get one until my birthday, but ppl do it during class cause its a way of communicating without getting caught. idk, its funner, cause no one can see what your writing and if your talking outloud well, everyone your with can hear what your saying...

and in general with electronics- we're sooooooooo dependant although we were absolutely fine before!!...we're all getting too greedy! ;0) hee hee

1. if you are over a persons house and you want leave or something but you do not want to hurt their feelings you text it

2. to keep your conversations secret

3. if people are not there at the time you text them they still get your message and can answer you back

4. you do not have to have full convos with people

5. if it is reall y loud wherever you are and you cant hear to call someone even when its on speaker you can text it
