Why do we have February vacation?

  1. If you are referring to the midwinter break that schools have in February, I personally don't see the need for it, but I guess the school districts think that kids need a break in February so that they don't have to go to school for 3 straight months from January (the end of the Christmas vacation) all the way to March/April (Easter vacation) with no break.

      So probably schools instituted the February vacation to break up the "winter doldrums" and give kids a break between those 3 months.

    Just my guess.


  2. midwinter break is considered presidents day week in seattle, so there excuse for having the week off is to honor the presidents haha. who cares its a week off of school why complain =)
