Why does anything have to exist?

Why does anything exist? If there was nothing before the big bang, why didn't it just stay nothing forever and ever? Why did something happen?

Well either way when putting religion or science it will be a fairly big paradox, I think. For if you put god, who created the god or what. And in science what forces are in work or what the trigger is to make the universe, but it is still unknown. But when that day comes it will surly make news.Hope it helps

The universe exists simply because it can exist.  No other reason.

If something is possible it is bound to happen sooner or later.

That is actually a very old and deep question, that was asked long before we even know Earth orbits the Sun.

It is really a religious question. Why does there have to be something instead of nothing? I personally find it a scarry question, almost as if I stopped believing in the reality of the universe that it would cease to exist, along with me.

i was thinking the exact same question the other day and its actually quite scary.. my guess is matter or something caused the big bang

I've wondered the same thing.. and I guess there is no definite answer. some people will probably say something that involves religion..but most people (not all) that believe in God or something don't believe all of the scientific stuff about earth and galaxies.

there was thing happen before the big bang. the big bang existed because of the binding forces unsuccessfully therefore caused the big bang. but before the big bang there are universe vacuum, vacuum here in tern of forces to bind.
