every week or two my cat vomits her food. My theory is that when she drinks water the dry food that she ate expands and forces her to expel.I do not want to give her wet food cause it smells so bad.

  1. My cat is bulemic. If I let her empty her food dish, she eats too much, too fast, when I feed her next. And then she vomits, and the food still looks like food... I have to make sure she never runs out, and it is always available for her to eat.

  2. to get rid of hair balls.  when she licks her fur, a lot of it gets swallowed and can't pass through.  all cats do this.  you can buy hairball remedy in the pet aisle at most stores.

  3. My cat does the same thing.  I blame it on over eating and not hairballs since there is never hair in the vomit.

  4. It is probably just hairballs, for which there is special food and vitamins for her. Try changing her food. But to make sure you should take her to the vet.

Your theory about the food expanding doesn't make any sense. I know many cats that only eat dry food and that simply doesn't happen.

  5. Your cat may have a hair ball in its throat.
