Why does my dragon bite?

My adopted Bearded is OK coming out of the tank but turns nasty and bites when I try to get him back in the tank. Can these things be rehabilitated or am I going to have to live with hellboy? What are their lifespans anyway?

First of all, bearded dragons live about 10 years.

He could be mad when you put him back in his cage for two reasons:  either he likes time out of his cage (or you) a LOT, or he hates his cage.  So try redoing his cage and maybe he'll be nicer.
