Why does my ipod Do This?

Question

It says Low Batter and then the little battery with the sign pops up and then it goes dead(I know that happens when the battery is finished) but now when it does that, there still is some life left in the battery bar on the top. Why does it do that?

I have a 1st generation Ipod and I've had it since th summer of 2005

well maybe it could have be damaged with water or by it falling. cause this has happened to me because i dropped it and it damaged it more then i thought it would and then i notice the battery was mest up. But for my friends it fell in the sink and the battery was doing that and one day it just died. Well i suggest you to but a new ipod nano. its only 150$ it can play songs and videos. also u can but pictures and play games on it. so srry for this happening to you but i would just buy a new one to.
