Why does she do this?

My friend will tell me she was cruel to someone (some of the people i know, some i dont) and that she said all these rude things to them b/c she doesnt like them then I hear from the person or someone they know that my friend was actually really sweet to them... This has happened several times. This just strikes me as odd that she would lie about it

What is the point of this?

for some reason she seems to want you to think that she is tough, that is odd, it may just be insecurity

She needs help.

She has some sort of psychological problem where she needs to lie in order to pretend she's somebody she's not to attempt to get other people to like her.

I smell trouble!
