Why does she say this?

This really poor unfortunate friend of mine, if you want to even call her that , not really a friend considering all the stuff she talks about me, but she tells people I want to be like her or tries to make people believe I do for some ODD reason.

She leads the most uneviable lifestyle imaginable and I lead the opposite. For instance, I have everything , she has nothing.

She tries to tell people I wish I was as cool as her and how im not as cool as her for some reason.

What would make someone say that kinda stuff or try to prove to other people that I would even want to be like her? Like I said, she has the most unenviable messed up lifestyle possible. So why?

she's just taking it out on you because that's just how she makes herself feel a lot better and she thinks that everyone will like her better than you. she just wants something that you don't have.

I would take it as her being jealous of you and everything you have.  She is trying to make herself feel better by telling people that someone more fortunate than her is trying to be like her.

A self-esteem issue I think you'd be in an alright place to confront her about.

It sounds like YOU think that you're quite the catch:  'I have everything, she has nothing.'  It's really sad to think that people actually put such a value on materialistic possessions.  Sounds like this girl is far smarter than you give her credit for.  It's not about what you OWN that makes you who you are.  If that's truly what you believe, then I side with this girl you're talking about.  If you don't want what she has maybe you need to re-evaluate yourself.  You can easily lose wealth and monetary riches... your friend is rich in other ways - knowledge, for example - and that cannot be taken away from her.

probably because she wants to be like you. Like you said you have everything she has nothing. When you come from a lifestyle with nothen most of the time people are embarrassed and try to be something they are not. they try and hide it by acting rich or by putting others down to bring themselves up. Its a way of kinda dealing with the troubles at home by blocking them out and just being someone else

Well, you were not real specific in the things you mentioned so it is difficult to give an honest opinion of why she is this way.  ,,I do believe she wants to be like you or she admires you greatly,,

\i do suggest you be an awesome friend to her if you "HAVE EVERYTHING"  but what is everything? Material things, feel good, and give people a sense of what you can afford financially (OR NOT AFFORD) but it doesnt really prove any accomplishments ..as far as her saying you want to be like her.. maybe she is just socially immature and experienced and is just chattering about things . I think maybe she admires you and really would like to have things in her fantasy world come true.

I t is a compliment in one way, and sad in another,, now as i see it ,, YOU HAVE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO DO SOMETHING GREAT FOR A PERSON WHO YOU SAY HAS NOTHING.. GIVE HER attention, talk to her, let her talk about herself, and act genuinely interested in her, and her ideas and goals, and just set good examples for her to copy and for you to rise up and be a greater person,, bottom line, be flattered. dont worry,, and if you really want to shine,, just be great, and kind.. and dont focuos so much on how messed up she is or her lifestyle,, she is not "HER THINGS", she is not,, "HER DIAMONDS" or lack of,,she is not her bank balance,, either are you for that matter,,

she knows she as a messed up life, but she is childish so she wants her life to look good, by telling people you want to be like her. Froget about her, she being stupid, you know you don't want to be like her. She just doesen't want to admit her lifes messed so shes doing this. If she keeps telling peopl that you want to be like her, your real friends will know you don't, so just ignore:)

iv a friend like that too but im way cooler than her, more friends and people like me better, she only has some of my friends as her cause they dont wanna make me sad, but they hate her :s
