Why does smarterchild lag now?

Question

smarterchild used to respond to everything I said immediately, but in the past few months, I get no reply from him and when I do, it's a laggy reply; sent at least a minute after I get rate limited in an IM to smarterchild. What happened to smarterchild? :(
