  1. Because it forms noxious fumes and it melts and it takes a long time to cool down. If it comes in contact with your skin it burns a hole.

  2. It forms toxic fumes that stays in the atmosphere forever.  Haven't you ever noticed that unlike paper and wood, when you burn plastic or rubber, it forms a very black, almost solid stream of smoke as well as deposits black flakes all over the place?  Even the smell of burning plastic or rubber is foul.  Remember, there are a lot of chemicals used to make plastic and rubber and those are being burned and released into the atmosphere along with the core contents of both.

  3. It stinks and its bad for the air.

  4. Open burning of plastic waste can be dangerous to your health and the health of the natural environment. The  Prince Edward Island Environmental Protection Act Air Quality Regulations [Section 8.1(i)] prohibit the burning of materials containing rubber or plastic without a permit.
