um please tell me why we don't have a national Health-care system? and why Americans is not absolutely for this??

if America is sooo advanced then why are we not taking our health seriously. honestly it looks like were are being duped by our government. yes yes yes i did see the movie "sicko". and some of the things Moore says on there i don't agree with but the fantastic idea of NHS is long over due in this country. one of the things he did mention is that we (America) was talking about it. mainly he portrayed Hilary Clinton. and our Government swayed us to believe that it would be socialization. Come on, honestly, we don't have to make it to be like that. i just wish that i don't have to worry about insurance and go to a doctor whenever i want and will be on call. The government is "sick". why not us American citizens do something about it rather than the News or a politician to persuade us to think there way.Its time that we start standing up for what ourselves believe in not what others think, by having FACTS on both sides of the situation and deciphering ourselves.

so in conclusion, what do YOU think?

  1. A. It will bankrupt our nation and we already have way too much debt

    B. Hard-working American's won't receive the healthcare they deserve.

Example, I had a torn meniscus in my knee. My cousin in Canada, where they have universal healthcare, also had one. In 3 weeks, I already had a consultation and outpatient surgery to fix it. It took her 1.5 years to even get an MRI and 2 yrs for the surgery.

  2. Try to pay for it?  What does the government do well?  Go to the DMV and tell me thats what you want out of healthcare....that kind of service.....only your life is on the line.  I have military medicine ironically it is government run health care think of it as national health care for the military nation.....it sucks period.  soldiers who are hurt get got care not liek that but for routine and dependant services its awful.  you wont get everything extensive coverage etc.  In Oregon they are already offering assisted suicide instead of care because its too expensive.  read a book stop watching propaganda.  there are lots of books read a variety and think.  i have my opinion but have read several books including one dealing with the hiliarycare of the early 90s and its downfall

  3. please tell me where the right to healthcare or the right to any other goverment payout is written into the constittuion.   national healthcare is just another issue brought up and used by the professional politicions to get you to turn more of your rights and responibilities over to the goverment to increase thier power base and budgets.by continueing to convince you that you need more of their help.

all of the federal goverment needs to be reduced reused and recycled so that we can return to individual responsibilities.

  4. People use Canada to try to tell people how bad that would be, other countries have national health care, and they have better care then we do.  They also do not have to pay high car insurance premiums becuz getting treatment is not denied by "pre-existing conditions that were never a issue just an excuse to be off the hook.

We pay in our taxes school, city workers, govt workers, police, all their health insurance is covered by tax dollars and education etc, .  Insurance is huge huge business.  In the state I live in the insurance company is really the law, they rule the courts etc, people don't know it, and for good reason, they will loose billions of dollars.  There are many agenda's attached to politicians and what govt  will be giving special and extravagant favors to on taxpayer dollars through special contributions.  Obama did get much flak for  wanting  congress not have special gifts without making it known to the public,

I think a tax credit is not going to do much, making health care affordable is better.  Money talks, we pay taxes for all kinds of things, most of it is not seen by the people of this country, and thats cazy, oour elected officials see plenty of it, usually big retirements and more then one or two at that!

We dont have it because people buy into fear and beleive in it.  The worst thing about fear is just that fear. "

  5. Some one on Yahoo said there was such a system. I think the person is in the Elections section.

Civic Currency might help. Maybe a Save Our Services Movement.

National Volunteer Health Organization. Perhaps somene could as The World Health Organization for advice . The org may deal with infectious diseases more but if could help set such up it could prevent the spread of disease or bacteria like Listeria found in recent products at Mc Donald's  which caused a recall. Also Subway.

  6. Please tell me who will pay for it? That's all I ask. Just tell me who is going to pay for it. I pay $10000/employee right now for health insurance. It is assumed to be part of the wage package. If I am taxed to provide health insurance, will I also have to put the $10000 back into the paycheck? Will I now get nailed twice?

  7. The debate is actually very simple.

Liberals (Democrats) want it.  They think the gov't should pay for it so that everyone can have it.  This may mean higher taxes to pay for it.

Conservatives (Republicans) don't want it.  They do not want to have any of their money taken to help undeserving people.  This argument also goes to taxes.

Independents (most of us) think it would be nice to have, but worry about our government running anything this important.  (Gov't has a lousy record of running things) AND we worry about more taxes.

Me?  I think I would support it.  I think my parents raised me to think of others first.

  8. The NHS, Britain's National Health System, is 'socialized medicine', meaning that the hospitals and clinics are owned by the government, the doctors and other professionals work for the government.  This is not what Americans want.  In poll after poll they want  a "Canadian style" single-payer system, meaning that hospitals and clinics remain commercial and for-profit, but the government handles the insurance, and everyone is in one big pool.  The Medicare system is a good example of this--in fact if we just expanded Medicare to cover everyone in the country we would save literally hundreds of billions of dollars a year.

Its amazing to hear conservatives so casually make the claim that government-backed health insurance would bankrupt the country.  EVERY OTHER developed country does it this way, and every one of them pays half or less what we do for the same or better care.

The reason we don't do it is a matter of priorities.  In the US the top priority of the commercial health care system is like everything else commercial, it is to make profits.  In every other country, the top priority is HEALTH CARE.  Our system is seen as best by conservatives and business types because it generates the highest profits, not because it provides the best and most cost-effective health care.

The cost Americans pay for health insurance has risen by 80% just in the time Bush has been in office.  And it was considered an emergency even before that.  But the insurance industry 'owns' BOTH political parties.  So all the plans they propose--GHW Bush's plan, Bill Clinton's plan, and this year Hillary's and Obama's plans--all of them have one thing in common.  Rather than put in a Single Payer system, they have the government buying insurance for uninsured through the existing health care industry, at their inflated rates.  In other words the purpose of these plans is not to provide health care but to throw taxpayer money at the health insurance industry, in return for their campaign contributions.  8^P
