Why is Yahoo and Facebook Linked?

I signed up for facebook and then I was prompted to synch my yahoo info with facebook. Why? I clicked decline and was kicked to Yahoo Design team site (or something like that). Anyone know why this happens? Do I have to link my yahoo account to facebook?

  1. No, they're not.  Yahoo has it's own version called Yahoo 360.  I have no idea why that would happen??
