I get excited or get nervous or deeply hurt? I'll start coughing & run to the toilet just in case I need to throw up which I do while I am there. But why do I gag in the first place?

  1. It's just emotions - when I was a kid I would get so excited about going to a sleepover that by the time it was time to go I'd be throwing up and have a headache.  As I got older I would throw up if something really upsetting happened - when someone in my family died once I had a migraine and was throwing up for 3 days.  I thought I had the flu until I realized that my emotions are just really powerful and I need to try to stay in control of them.

  2. It's just a tick. Lot's of people get a lump in their throat when they get upset. You may be a bit more sensative to it than most. It will pass if you ignore it.

  3. you might want to speak to a doctor about maybe having anxiety

  4. Do you have asthma? Sounds like you are hyperventalating or something of that nature.
