Why is it that?.......?

Question

Why is it that lemon juice from a bottle is lemon flavored (not made from real lemons) and lemon scented cleaner/soap has real lemons in it?

*Just curious :)

Maybe the juice would not stay fresh that long, would need to be refrigerated and consumed within a few days, and when you use a few drops at a time, you would have to toss it before using a quarter of it.  Also they would have to use too much "chemistry" in it to keep it fresh, and the artificial stuff just stays edible for a longer period of time.

With the soap/cleanser, the lemon juice is soaked in other chemical ingredients so there is no chance of it going bad.

Because if they put real lemons in a bottle they would not have that much flavor and cleaner/soap has real lemons because there is no substitute for the strong natural lemon scent and cleaning power.

They can reproduce the taste, but not the smell? Or it's cheaper to use artificial for flavoring?

In any case, I've never seen a lemon in my soap.

I use real lemons for tea!
