  1. If it's not raining then it is dew. Dew appears usually early in the morning because during the night, the temperature near the ground sank so much that the humidity in the air has to condense into droplets. Because water needs to dissipate heat in order to condense, it only happens when the water vapour touches something with a mass, like ... the edge of a tree leave or anything else.

The same happens happens on the glass of a cold drink in a warm room.

  2. Rain.

  3. Dew, Rain, Mist, you wetting your self

  4. Most commonly, the sun heats the oceans which adds water vapor to the air.  When that vapor condenses, the Earth becomes moist. When the vapor condenses in the air, it is known as precipitation (which may take the form of rain, snow, sleet, or hail); when it condenses on the ground it is called "dew."

Alternatively, a few terrestrial sources for water may account for the wetness.  If you live near a body of water which is overflowing its banks, you may be experiencing a flood.  Floods are natural incidents which occur when the amount of water in an area exceeds the ability of the ground to absorb it.

Finally, it is possible that a neighbor or other person has set up a sprinkler to water their lawn or field.  This will increase the moisture outside and is primarily used for ensuring plants have enough water to survive.
